Yeyu is a local-first Chrome tab organizer. This policy explains what data the extension handles, why it is needed, and how users control it.

1. Data handled by the extension

• Tab metadata: titles, URLs, favicons, order, active state, pinned state, and window IDs, used to display, search, switch, close, discard, and restore tabs.
• Local configuration: custom groups, pinned links, recent visits, locks, closed-tab archive, snoozes, auto-refresh rules, session snapshots, appearance, and other settings.
• Custom backgrounds: an image explicitly selected by the user is resized and compressed to WebP in the browser and stored in the current Chrome profile. It is not uploaded.
• Optional bookmarks: bookmark titles, URLs, and folder structure are read only after the user grants the optional bookmarks permission.
• Optional cookies: cookies for the current site are read only after a user starts the Cookie tool and grants access. They are copied to the local clipboard and are not stored or transmitted.
• Search terms: web search opens the chosen search engine in a new tab. The selected search provider handles that request under its own privacy policy.
• Quick Search: the overlay searches local tab metadata, bookmarks, archives, and recent visits. If the user enables a double-modifier shortcut, a lightweight listener detects only the chosen Ctrl, Command, or Option timing. It does not log characters or read page text, chats, or form fields.

2. Storage and retention

Data is stored in chrome.storage.local in the current Chrome profile. Recent visits keep up to 50 entries, the closed-tab archive up to 1,000 entries, session snapshots up to 30 points, and local hover previews are automatically pruned by count and storage size. Users can clear these records or export and import a local JSON backup. Uninstalling the extension normally removes its Chrome storage.

3. Data transmission and sharing

The extension has no payments, licensing service, cloud sync, AI service, advertising, analytics, or telemetry, and it does not sell user data. Tab organization, search, recent visits, archives, snapshots, and appearance settings are processed locally.

A target website receives a normal browser request only when the user opens, previews, or searches the web. The extension does not store page bodies, chat content, form content, login credentials, LocalStorage, or SessionStorage.

4. Permission purposes

• tabs: read and manage tab metadata and state.
• activeTab and scripting: show Quick Search after a user gesture and register the optional double-modifier shortcut.
• sidePanel: display the extension in Chrome's side panel.
• storage and unlimitedStorage: keep local settings, groups, archives, snoozes, snapshots, custom backgrounds, and local preview images.
• alarms and notifications: schedule refreshes, inactive-tab checks, snapshots, and snooze reminders.
• contextMenus and favicon: provide pin actions and website icons.
• system.display: arrange two to five split-view windows.
• clipboardWrite: write cookie text only after the user starts the Cookie tool.
• bookmarks, cookies, and website access are optional and requested only when the related feature is enabled.

5. User controls

Users can disable advanced features, automatic snapshots, inactive-tab discard, and auto-refresh; deny or revoke bookmarks, cookies, and website access; clear recent visits, archives, snapshots, and previews; and export or import a local JSON backup.

6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Policy updates and contact

If data handling changes materially, this policy and the extension disclosure will be updated before the new behavior takes effect. For questions or privacy requests, use the support contact shown on the Chrome Web Store listing.
